Obituary for Alicia Oregel

Alicia Oregel Zambrano, 78, April 18, 2019, longtime resident of the southwest side of Chicago-of Clearing neighborhood, dearly beloved wife of Cirilo Oregel; cherished mother of Roberto Oregel, Teresa (Manuel) Landeros, Sergio (Esmeralda) Oregel, Alicia (late Calixto) Vargas, Maria E. (Javier) Yepez, Maria G. Oregel, Diana (Doug) Dlouhy, and Hugo Oregel; devoted and proud grandmother of 20: 12 girls and 8 boys; dear great grandmother of 8: 5 girls and 3 boys; survived by 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Zambrano and Maria Higareda Zambrano, 2 brothers, and 1 sister; dear aunt of many.

Alicia was a loving mother, humble and kind hearted women. Always friendly and thoughtful who tended to worry about others but not herself. She was a homemaker and superb chef especially Mexican soup, tamales stuffed peppers and tostadas. She cherished her dog, Tinker Bell, who was always by her side.

Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Monday, April 22, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, April 23, 8:45 a.m., at chapel, to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 6435 S Kilbourn Ave Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Burial Resurrection Cemetery.
