Amparo Gonzalez
85, resident of Chicago, South Lawndale neighborhood, passed away on August 19, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted mother Jose (Matiana) Ovalle and David (Rafael) Moreno; loving grandmother Luis, Carlos, David, William, and the late Mayelo; beloved sister of Agripina Cervantes, the late Sotera Gonzalez, late Rogelio Gonzalez, late Antonia Gomez, late Jesus Gomez, and late Andres Gomez; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Amparo was the Founder of the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago. She worked for many years as a passionate seamstress designing beautiful and artistic costumes. She was known for her outgoing, sociable, and affectionate personality and would make friends with everyone. Amparo adored all animals. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 3 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Wednesday, August 24, 2022 with chapel prayers at 8:45 a.m. to St. Mary Star of Sea Church, 6435 S. Kilbourn Ave. Chicago for a 10 am. Mass of Chrisitan Burial. Cremation following in accordance with her wishes.
