Obituary for Baltazar Esparza

Baltazar Esparza, born on October 1 1944 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to the late
Gonzalo Esparza and Natividad Escalera, passed away on January 29, 2022 at the
age of 77 after living a long and happy life. He married the love of his life, the late
Alejandrina Avila, in 1967 and together hey had 5 children: Maribel (Alfredo)
Hernandez, Sandra (Jaime) Martinez, Baltazar Jr., (Irma) Esparza, Edgar (Elizabeth)
Esparza and Alejandrina (Erasmo) Alvarez.
Baltazar courageously left Mexico in 1978 and came to the United States to
provide a better life for his family. He was the proud grandfather of Alfredo Jr.,
Isaias, Oziel and Aaron Hernandez, Sandra, Vianey, and Jaime Martinez, Nicholas
Salazar, Jasmin, and Brianna Esparza, Edgar and Geneva Esparza, Judith, Jonadan,
Erasmo, Sebastian, and Alexandra Alvarez. He lived to see his greatgrandchildren: Itzel, Joseph, Benjamin and Julian Salazar, G’zelle and Baltazar
Esparza, Eliana Sharma, Zachary and Zayden Vazquez and Leonidas Johnson, and
Alexandria Esparza.
Baltazar was the devoted brother of Magdalena (late Blas) Rodriguez, the late
Gonzalo Esparza, the late Silvia Diaz, Ciria (Jose Luis) Martinez, Rosalina (Roberto)
Ruvalcava, the late Leoncio Esparza, Leonor (Jose Manuel) Ruiz, Felicitas
(Francisco) Cisneros, and Pilar Esparza. He was a loving uncle and friend to all he
met.
Baltazar was a hard-working family man. Welcomed to the sound of fireworks
after moving to the states on July 4th of 1978, he felt excited for a new start. His
favorite song was Los Mandados by Vicente Fernandez, which describes a story
similar to his own. He enjoyed watching basketball and baseball, and loved to
cook in his free time.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 9-11am on Wednesday, February 2
2022 at Central Chapel. The funeral service will then take place at 12pm at
Epiphany Church on the corner of 25th and Keeler.
