Obituary for Carlo J. Rampa

Carlo John Rampa
81, longtime Canaryville and Brighton Park resident, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. Beloved husband of Maria Garcia; loving father of Cynthia Garcia, Marjorie (Jimmy) Stinnett, Carly Garcia, Carlo (Natalie) Garcia, Michelle Rampa-Gephart (Matthew), and Christina Rampa; cherished grandfather of Nelson Garcia, Arthur Vela, Mecayella Vela (James Mcparland), Jonathan Kramarsky, Diana Veitkus, Allison Veitkus, Sean Harper Jr., Joshua Harper, Nomi Gephart, Sebastian Gephart, and Jasmine Croft; great-grandfather of Zyrnon, Annabelle, Kameryn, Nelson Jr., and Milani; dear brother of Janet Rampa (Haluk Ozdemir) and David (Cheryl) Rampa and grand-pups Karate and DeeDee; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Carlo was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Marjorie Rampa (Ritchie), two brothers Peter Rampa and Lawrence Rampa, and great-grandchild Emery.

Carlo was a retired pharmacist and owner of the Canaryville Medical Center. He was the previous owner and operator of Poor Boy’s Carryout. Maria and Carlo would donate and work the concession stands at the Christmas Bazaars at St. Gabriel Church. But, you would most often find him fixing cars, working at construction sites, and getting his hands dirty under the moniker of Bosco Services.

His family described him as a “Jack of All Trades”, a true self-taught handyman, who would help anyone in need. He was passionate about reading and enjoyed collecting a variety of books and National Geographic Magazines. Carlo loved to keep his mind sharp, doing crosswords and sudoku puzzles in the Sunday newspapers. He enjoyed visits from his grandchildren and enjoyed keeping his various homecare providers on their toes, as he was also a jokester with a joyful spirit.

Services at McInerney Central Chapel, 4635 S. Wallace Street, Chicago, IL 60609. Where family and friends will gather on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 3-8 pm. Cremation will follow in accordance with his wishes. Please visit CARLO RAMPA book of memories.
