Charles H. Chapman 94, December 7, 2022. Born in Kentucky and long time resident of Southwest side of Chicago, Garfield Ridge neighborhood. Beloved husband of Geraldine T. nee Downes. Cherished father of Theresa Rega, Mary Ann Wyrobek, Linda Stawarz, James Chapman, Tish White, Laura Travis and Sally Short. Adorded grandfather of 30 + and great-grandfather of 30 +. Fond brother of 1 brother and 3 sisters. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Geneva Chapman.
Charles was a proud to serve his country in the Army. He became a Barber after being discharged from military service. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a fan of Blue Grass music. To his family and friends, he was known as the “fix-it-man”. Never needing to call for repair if Charles was available. He was a loving and devoted uncle and friend to many, and will be forever missed.
Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Monday, December 12, 2022, 9 am. at Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Jane de Chantal Church. 52nd and McVicker Avenue, Chicago. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, Illinois.
