Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Ramirez
Charles Ramirez "Chuck", Passed away January 30, 2023, beloved son of the late Sixto and the late Margaret (nee Torres) Ramirez. Cherished father of Maryann (Bill) Pavela and Charles, Jr. (Tammy) Ramirez.
Fond brother of the late Cruz, late Manuela, late Pauline, Sixto, late Lupe, late Margaret, late John, Mary and Katherine. Loving grandpa of Joe, Anthony, Deanna, Johnny, Brianna and Nicholas and great-grandpa of Gia, Lexcia, Anthony and Joey. Charles was a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and friend to many.
Charles was born and raised in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood, most recently residing in Garfield Ridge neighborhood. He loved listening to R & B and salsa music and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Some of his favorite food was pizza , Italian sausage and beef sandwiches from Portillos! Charles looked forward to and enjoyed the occasional casino trips. Chuck had a long career as a truck driver for La Grou trucking for 30 + years. Before starting his career as a truck driver, he proudly served his Country in the United States Army, where he earned the Decoration of Expert Rifle. He continued his service in the Army Reserves for a total of 6 years. He was a huge Chicago White Sox baseball fan. Chuck had a loving and giving nature and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial Service will be held at New Life Community Church, 3601 S. 61st Avenue in Cicero, Illinois where family and friends will gather on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes.
