Christopher J. Balog, January 16, 2023. Long time resident of the Southwest side of Chicago, Clearing-Garfield Ridge neighborhood. Beloved husband of Ivette (Santiago). Cherished father of Ryan (Samantha) Balog, Dana Balog, the late baby Christopher,Jr., Edward (Rebecca) Santiago, and David Cortez. Devoted brother of Henry “Rick” (Susan) Balog, David (Patricia) Balog, the late Susan Balog, and Jeanine Balog. Adored grandfather “Papa Chris” to Jordan, Christian, Blaze, Cayden, Eli, Edward Jr., Julian, Jayden and David III. Proceeded in death by his parents, Hank and Donna (nee Blake) Balog.

Christopher was known as a sports fanatic. He enjoyed swimming and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 9 am. at Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Symphorosa Church. 62nd and Austin Avenue, Chicago. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, Illinois
