Obituary for Darlene L. Villarreal

Darlene L. Villarreal, 64, February 24, 2021, born, raised, and lifelong resident of the South Side of Chicago- Bridgeport neighborhood; beloved mother of Estelle Santiago, Patricia Stutz, Lalo Villarreal, Sr., Pearl (Alex) Guiterrez, and Joshua (Angelique) Torres; adored grandmother of 22 and great grandmother of 9; devoted sister of 1 brother and 9 sisters; Preceded in death by her parents, Mario Soto, Sr. and Lucille Soto. Darlene was a cherished aunt and friend to all!

Darlene was a “super grandma” and adored her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, watching movies-especially westerns, and shopping. She enjoyed baking cupcakes and loved any and all Mexican food. Darlene was a HUGE Chicago Cubs baseball fan, as well a fan of Smokey Robinson. Her favorite song being “Really Gonna Miss You.” Darlene was a longtime member of the PTA, teaching assistant and support staff at the Senior Living Center.

Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Service at 4 p.m. Cremation following.
