Obituary for Edward R. McLaughlin
Edward R. McLaughlin, 81, December 27, 2019, preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Doris McLaughlin and several siblings; survived by two daughters, Lisa (Edward) Vaughn, of Naperville, IL, and Julia Ferrelli, of California; two grandchildren, Nolan and Olivia Vaughn; one brother, Bernard (Mary Ellen) McLaughlin; and several friends.
Edward was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, attended De La Salle High School, and proudly sang in the choir at St. Gabriel Church. Born and raised in the Canaryville neighborhood of the South Side of Chicago, he spent all of his life there except for residing in Alsip from 1970 to 1995, where he served as an Alsip Park District commissioner.
Services at McINERNEY CENTRAL CHAPEL, 4635 S. Wallace St., Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, from 8 to 9 a.m. Funeral Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, 9:15 a.m., at chapel, to St. Gabriel Church, 600 W. 45th St., Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Private burial with military honors, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
