Obituary for Edward J. Minnich

Edward J. Minnich, 93 November 12, 2021. Long time resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago, Clearing Neighborhood. Beloved husband of 70 years to Anne T. (nee Shanahan) Minnich. Cherished father of Mary (Leroy) Szczepanski, Edward (Sandra) Minnich, Jr., Thomas Minnich, William (Suzanne) Minnich, Gerard (Denise) Minnich, the late Jean Marie Minnich, Margaret (Andy) Speer, and Daniel (Julianne) Minnich. Adored grandfather of 22 and great-grandfather of 28.
He was the devoted brother of the late Dorothy (late Joe) Breski and the late Shirley (the later Walter) Shultz. He was the hard working son of the late Edward and Jeanette Minnich.

Edward proudly served his Country in the Army, WWII. He worked for over 45 years as a chemist at Electro-Motor Divisionk, and Alumni of Tilden Tech. He had a great sense of humor. Edward loved listening to classical music. He was known to his family and friends as the quessential home remodel - DIY. There were always remodeling project in the Minnich household. He was a hardworking man and a great father. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 3 to 8 p.m.. Funeral Thursday, November 18th,2021 Chapel prayers at 8:45 a.m. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at St. Symphorosa Church, 62 and Austin Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Burial St. Mary Cemetery with Military Honors. For those attending services, MASKS REQUIRED.
