Obituary for Elaine Yachnin

Elaine  Yachnin
Elaine Yachnin passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2017. Elaine was a gentle soul, who loved and was devoted to her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Everyone who knew her loved her.

She was born Elaine Pearlman, Dec 26, 1931, to Sam and Anne Pearlman in the Bronx, NY. Elaine graduated Walton High School and Hunter College, CUNY, with a major in education. She married Ralph Yachnin in 1950, living in Elmont, Long Island. Ralph, a lawyer, eventually became a New York State Supreme Court Judge in Nassau County. Elaine worked as a bookkeeper, and raised two sons, Robert and Mark. The Yachnins retired to Florida in 1995. Judge Yachnin passed away in 2011. Elaine then moved to Illinois to be near her son, Robert and his family.

In addition to her sons, she is survived by her son-in-law, Mat Baskin, daughter-in-law JoClair Yachnin, grandchildren Amanda Naser and Stephanie Yachnin and great-granddaughter, Aubrey Naser.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 10:15 a.m., at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL. Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m., with Rabbi Robin Damsky, officiating. Interment following.
