Obituary for Elodia Rangel

Elodia Rangel (nee Magdaleno)
77, May 12, 2022, longtime resident of South Side of Chicago-Lawn neighborhood. Beloved wife of Luis Rangel; loving mother of the late Francisco Javier Rangel, late Angelica Rangel, Luis Rangel, and Norma (Eric) Rangel-Aponte; cherished grandmother of Marco Flores, Antonio Flores, Richard Rangel, Isabel Rangel, Eric Jr. Aponte, Maya I. Aponte, and Ethan Rangel, and great-grandmother of Isabella Flores and Carlos Flores; dearest sister of Mercedes Magdaleno, Andrea Magdaleno, Arturo (late Ada Magdaleno-Rivera), and Guadalupe (Mario) Luna. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and her beloved pet companion, Bobby.

Elodia enjoyed watching the Discovery channel, and Warrior shows, including The Titan Games, and American Ninja Warrior. She loved going out to eat with her family, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Thursday, May 19th, 2022 from 9 a.m. until Chapel Prayers at 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 12 noon at St. Rita Cascia Church, 6243 S. Fairfield Ave.Chicago, Illinois. Burial Resurrection Cemetery.
