He was a longtime resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago, Burbank and formerly of the Back of the Yards neighborhood; dearly beloved husband of Consuelo “Connie” Silva Mendez; devoted father of Rick (Laura) Mendez, Randy (Laura) Mendez, Sylvia (Steve) Juarez, Linda (Robert Ramirez) Mendez and Laura (Humberto) Trujillo; loving grandfather of Ray, Stevie, Melissa, Mark, Frank, David, Krystal, Anthony, Joey, Kristofer, Nick, Ryan, Xiomara, Michael, Justin, Brandon, Demiries, Ricky and Jeneé. Great grandfather of Hailey, Sergio, Angelina, Manny, Saul, Noah, Xavier, Jayden, Mila, Oliver, Harlow, Mason, Asher, Carlina, Ayla and Eleanor. Great, great grandfather of Olivia.
