Obituary for Gustavo Rene Alfaro Vega
Gustavo Rene Alfaro (76) passed away on December 19, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Maria Carmen Alfaro and father of Susana Alfaro. Loving son of the late Genaro Alfaro Luna and the late Raquel Vega Perez. Devoted brother of the late Alejo Alfaro Vega, Martha Catalina Alfaro Vega, and Emilio Jaime Alfaro Vega.
Gustavo was a fond step-father and loving grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a cherished godfather to many, and a dear friend to his many cousins and friends. He was born in Ecuandureo, Michoacán, and lived over half his life in Chicago, Illinois, residing in Cicero. His nickname was the “Abogado,” and he will forever be remembered for his strong-willed, witty, and sociable personality. Gustavo enjoyed the sport of soccer very much and was a loyal Chivas fan. He also enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook.
Gustavo enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
Services will be held at Central Chapel, 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 3 to 8 p.m.
Mass will be held at Saint Mary of the Sea Church at 6435 S Kilbourn Ave, Chicago, IL 60629 on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 10 a.m.
Cremation following in accordance with his wishes.
