Ina (Iller Stringfellow) Lucas, 93, of Oak Forest, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, a visitation will be held at Central Chapel, 6158 S Central Avenue, Chicago, Illinois and a graveside service will be held immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
She was born on October 8, 1927 in Lake, Mississippi, the 10th of 12 children of John and Ellen Stringfellow. She attended Lake High School. She was employed in the book publishing industry as a book binder for 50 years and retired in 1992.
Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her parents John and Ellen Stringfellow, sisters, Florence Nipper of Richland, Mississippi, Goldie Evans of Lake, Mississippi, Lela Walker of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Frances Talbot of Romeoville, Illinois, Lucille Myers of Richland, Mississippi, Bertis McDonald of Shreveport, Louisiana and brothers, Willie Stringfellow of Lake Mississippi, Weldon Stringfellow of Lake, Mississippi, Rollie Stringfellow of Forest, Mississippi, Lonzie Stringfellow of Laurel, Mississippi, and Calvin Stringfellow of Jackson, Mississippi.
Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Lucas and son, Gerald Lucas.
Mrs. Lucas is survived by her daughters Rita (Lucas) Marks, Michelina (Lucas) Olandese, her son Anthony Lucas and 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
