James Edward Smilor, Sr., April 12, 2022, _58_long time resident of the southwest side of Chicago, Clearing neighborhood. Cherished father of James Edward Smilor, Jr., Jake Leo Smilor, Manny and Tabitha. Beloved son of the late Arnold Smilor and Dorothy (nee Bucek) Smilor. He was a devoted brother of Linda, Janet and Dory; fun loving uncle of many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to Karen and many others. James was a proud United States Army Veteran paratrooper. He loved fishing, grilling, camping, playing bags and the outdoor life. He was a fan of “shorts” weather. Many knew James by his favorite saying “do some “shotsies!” . He was a furry dad to his late pup Snoopy Dog!

Services will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Saturday, April 16th, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service 4 p.m.with Military Honors. Cremation following in accordance with James wishes.
