John R. Coglianese, 78, December 2, 2019, lifetime resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago, of Mt. Greenwood neighborhood; where he was born and raised. Beloved husband of Theresa M. Rogers Coglianese, nee Platt; loving step-father of Michael J. Rogers, Jr. and Brian C. Rogers; devoted grandfather of Jason X. Rogers; loving son of the late Joseph and Helen Lynch Coglianese; fond brother of Joseph (Josefa) Coglianese and Mary (Gerry) Hoeh, the late Anthony (late Mary Elaine) Coglianese, Thomas (Terrie) Coglianese, and Edward (Eileen) Coglianese, C.F.D.; dear brother in law, uncle and friend of many.
John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the 11th Ward Department of Streets and Sanitation Street Operation after nearly 34 years of service.
Family and friends will gather at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Memorial Service at 6 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place Monday, December 9, 2019, 1:30 p.m., at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th St., Alsip, IL.
