Obituary for John A. Cox Jr.
John A. Cox, Jr., October 14, 2022, resident of South Side of Chicago.
Beloved son of the late John A. “Jack” and Joan nee Anhalt Cox. Cherished brother of Laurie (Dave) Roney and Michael (Suzi) Cox. Devoted uncle of Paige, Kaitlyn and Jake Roney and
Andrew, Jack and Nathan Cox. He was the dear nephew of Judy Gregory, Joyce Monahan, Richard (Donna) Anhalt, Glee (late Michael) Cox and the late Maureen Cox. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
John loved watching sports. Big fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and Notre Dame.
John volunteered his services and time in helping keep the environment clean. A clean, well kept community brought joy to him. Traveling was a big part of John’s life. He would take trips on his own as with his Mom, always enjoying and experiencing the parts of the World. The 4th of July was his all-time favorite holiday. He would spend months anticipating what “fireworks” he would set off for family and friends to enjoy. John was an animal lover! Always had a simile on his face for his furry family. John will be greatly missed by his many cousins and friends.
Services will be held at St. Symphorosa Church, 62nd and Austin, Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10:30 to 11:30, Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetetery. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes.
