John M. “Jack” Doyle, (retired CPD)
74, lifelong Canaryville resident, passed away May 16, 2023. Beloved wife of 52 years to Kathleen (nee Clifford); loving father of Colleen Konagel, (Seargent CPD) and John Doyle (CFD); cherished grandpa of Katie, Johnny, Brianna, Jack, and Quinn; dearest brother of MaryJo (Chuck) Dineen; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Eleanor Doyle (nee Coffey), and siblings Edward (late Donna) Doyle and Therese (late Robert) Danaher.
Jack was a highly decorated Police Officer, in the tactical unit for the CPD for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Canaryville S A C club and 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Jack was known to many for his famous “4th of July parties.” He loved lighting off fireworks and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
Services at McInerney Central Chapel, 4635 S. Wallace Street, Chicago, IL 60609 on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 3-8 pm. Funeral Monday, May 22, 2023 with chapel prayers at 9am to St. Gabriel Church, 600 W. 45th St., Chicago for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
