Obituary for Jose A. Lopez

Jose A. Lopez, 92, March 16, 2022, longtime resident of the Southwest side of Chicago, Marquette Park. Loving dad of Anthony (Juanita) Lopez, Joseph (Carol) Lopez and Irene Lopez; cherished grandfather of 15, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather to many; dearest brother of Paula Lopez.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents Celso Lopez and Augustina Alvarado; his siblings Zenon Lopez, Catalina Lopez, and Victor Lopez; and dearest friend and companion Socorro Flores.
Jose was an avid Solitaire player. His family described him as quite stubborn, incredibly independent, and truly one of kind! He would take the bus everyday to the Pilsen neighborhood and enjoy his coffee at the McDonald’s before heading to his favorite bar for his afternoon drink! He will be remembered by all who knew him for his famous saying, “ARE YOU SICK IN THE HEAD?!”
