Obituary for Jose Luis Ramirez
Jose Ramirez, 71 of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on December 14, 2020, after a long battle due to Covid complications. Born in Chavinda, Michoacan, Mexico on July 24, 1949. His love for his native country, language and culture was instilled in his children, nieces, nephews and grandkids. At the early age of 17 he migrated to the United States in search of a better future and Chicago became his second home. Dedicated over 30 years of his life to baking treats at Hostess Cake Company.
He was the devoted son of Angelina Gutierrez and the late Jose Ramirez Barajas. Survived by his siblings, Maria Elena, Celia (Salvador Pedroza), Jesus (Martha Padilla), Martha (Alejandro Garcia), Eduardo, Cecilia, Natividad (Jesus Maciel), and Laura (Javier Barragan). The beloved partner of the Araceli Cifuentes, loving father to Maria Elena, Jose L. Jr., Hilda, Sandra, Carlos, Yesenia, Jose, Angel and Jose Angel. Adoring grandfather to Michelle, Destiny, Adolfo, Elena, Ximena, Joey, Josue, Julian, Angelica, Fernando, Julian, Joanna, Gizelle, Samantha, Victoria, Carlos, Jacob, Chelly, Emily, Julian, Kimberly, Jesus, Aliyah and Melanie, great grandfather to Natalia. Adored and admired uncle to many nephews and nieces.
Jose’s heart had no boundaries, always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone he saw struggling. His charisma and smile would always brighten our days and his love for life and his family was like no other. It is never easy to see someone as important as our beloved Dad leave. He was the core and the joy of the house, always worried for his children’s well being. On behalf of the Ramirez Family, we appreciate your support, company and all their gestures of affection. There are no words to thank you as we mourn our beloved Jose.

Central Ave., Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Sunday, December 20, 2020, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Monday, December 21, 2020, family and friends will meet DIRECTLY at Epiphany Catholic Church, 2524 S Keeler, Ave., Chicago, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL.
