Obituary for Juan Favela Jr.
Juan Favela, Jr., 52 was carried home to Jesus Christ on October 3, 2021. Longtime resident of the southwest side of Chicago-Garfield Ridge neighborhood. Loving father of Samantha (Jeremy), Vito, Juan, Julian, and Roman; treasured son of Juan Sr. and Lourdes Favela; cherished grandfather of Alexander, Isabella, Gianna, Ezekiel, and Persephone; beloved brother of Claudia (John), Ramses (Linette), Jennifer (Ralph), Tanairy, Massiosare, Emilo, Jennifer Brianna and Francisco; dear uncle of Brigette(Chris), Anastacia, Karla, Alain, Stella Ruis, and Santino; fond nephew of Jaime (Coco); adored cousin of Jaime (Lou ), Maria (Jose), and late Indira; and great-cousin of Lou, Emilio, Johannah, Stephanie, and Alex; eternal best friend/brother of Jimmy Leno; also survived by his furry puppy companions, Harley, Baby, Sugar Bear, Oggie, late Polo and Misty.
Juan was a catholic, and volunteer custodian for Our Lady of the Snows Church for many years. He had a larger-than-life attitude, with a loving, silly, charismatic and charming personality. He was always surrounded by family, friends, animals and children. Juan had a passion for all different types of music. He will be deeply missed, and never forgotten by all who knew him.
Services will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 3 to 9 p.m.. Funeral Saturday, October 9, 2021 Chapel prayers at 8:45 a.m. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 4810 South Leamington Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Burial Resurrection Cemetery. For those attending services, MASKS REQUIRED.
