Lucia Rivera, 91, September 29, 2020, born in Mexico and resident of the West Side of Chicago-Pilsen neighborhood since 1999; dearly beloved wife of the late Guillermo Rivas; cherished mother of the late Crispin Rivas Rivera, Marco A. Rivas Rivera, Maria de Jesus Rivas de Mendez, Jose L. Rivas Rivera, Guillermina A. Rivas Rivera, Pablo Rivas Rivera, Joel Rivas Rivera, and Moises R. Rivas Rivera; proud grandmother and great-grandmother, fond aunt and devoted friend to many. Preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Rivera and Angela Islas.
Lucia loved music, singing and dancing, her favorite song being Malagenia. Lucia also loved cooking and enjoyed cooking for her family. Some of her special dishes were rice, beef stew, handmade tortillas, and mole dishes. Lucia enjoyed her relaxing hobby of knitting. Lucia was not only a loving mother, but had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to joke!
Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service time pending___________. Cremation following.

A Lucía le encantaba la música, el canto y el baile, siendo su canción favorita Malagenia. Lucía también amaba cocinar y disfrutaba cocinar para su familia. Algunos de sus platos especiales eran arroz, caldo de res, tortillas hechas a mano y platos de mole. Lucía disfrutaba de su relajante pasatiempo de tejer. Lucía no solo era una madre cariñosa, sino que tenía un maravilloso sentido del humor. ¡Le encantaba bromear!
