78, December 25, 2022, longtime resident of South Side of Chicago-Lawn neighborhood. Beloved husband of the late Elodia Rangel (nee Magdaleno); loving father of the late Francisco Javier Rangel, late Angelica Rangel, Luis Rangel, and Norma (Eric) Rangel-Aponte; cherished grandfather of Marco Flores, Antonio Flores, Richard Rangel, Isabel Rangel, Eric Jr. Aponte, Maya I. Aponte, and Ethan Rangel, and great-grandfather of Isabella Flores and Carlos Flores; dearest brother of David, Cecilia, Arnulfo, Jose Refugio, Virginia, Pedro, Magdaleno, Jorge, Margarita, and Rodolfo. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and his beloved pet companion, Bobby.
Luis enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and singing. He loved traveling, especially to Mexico to visit his family. He will aways be remembered for his outgoing personality and comical jokes.
Services will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Funeral Service beginning at 7 p.m. Cremation following in accordance with his wishes.
