Maria Erlinda Ortiz, 63, March 11, 2021, born in Fremont, Ohio, longtime Chicago resident, beloved mother of Gabriel Ortiz, Michelle Bolivar, the late Maria Ortiz, Roberto Padilla, and Israel Padilla; loving grandmother of Gabe Ortiz, Gilberto Daniels, Natalie Ortiz, Angelo Cervantes, Matthew Cervantes, Anthony Padilla, and Israel Padilla, Jr.; devoted sister of Carol Ortiz, the late Velma Ortiz, Annette Ortiz, Elizabeth Ortiz, Jesse Ortiz, Steve Ortiz, Alex Varela, Belinda Ortiz, and Ernie Ortiz, Jr.; cherished daughter of the late Ernest P. Oritz and Belia L. Garcia; fond aunt of many.

Mary loved to dance, especially to Cumbia music. She enjoyed cooking and had a great sense of humor. She was the life of the party, and never afraid to speak her mind.

Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside.
