Obituary for Mark James Murphy

Mr. Mark James Murphy, 52, passed away at home in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017. Born on April 24, 1965 in St. Paul, Minnesota, he eventually settled in Chicago and has lived in the Clearing neighborhood for the past 13 years. Mark’s career as a driver and Owner Operator, took him across the continental US. He enjoyed exploring regional cuisines and specialties and would bring them home to share. He was proud to be a Chicagoan and also treasured his time in Cable, Wisconsin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane (Marshbank) Murphy; beloved Mother in Law, Arlene Marshbank; Mother, Leesa (Dennis) Hoffmann; Step Father, Gary Hoffmann; Step Mother, Corrine Murphy; Brothers, Steven, David and Andrew Murphy; Sister, Amy (Murphy) Gammon; many nieces and nephews; Cousins, Marilynne Brady, William and Kevin Kampinski, Rachel (Garner) Arce, Debi (Camp) Smith, Thomas Camp and Liz Fishpaw; and his cherished furry family, Paxton, Tyler and Louise. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Murphy.

He was a music lover, car enthusiast and a dreamer. A jack of all trades, he loved cooking and working on his home and his garden.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 3, at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, for a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life gathering until 6 p.m.
