Obituary for Michael Garcin

Michael was the first and only child of Jacqueline, Father to Moo and Zilla and Grandfather to Obsidian and Wilde. He also had a feisty little Chihuahua, Nemo, who he loved with all his heart.

He joins his grandparents, Helen and Joseph (Pops), and his Uncle Joe.

Michael was born in Walther Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was a union glazier for the local 27 for over 35 years, putting in glass throughout Chicagoland.

Michael loved music, especially rock and roll, and had a knack for playing songs by ear, a trait passed down to his child, Moo.

He loved science, astronomy, and nature. Many memories were made catching critters at Sundown Meadows with his child, Zilla.

He loved electronics of any kind, collecting mini-speakers, solar panels, lights, and anything else he could get his hands on.

He love to watch cartoons, especially SpongeBob and Scooby-Doo.

More than anything though. He loved helping people, whether he was taking care of the elderly, giving someone a place to stay, or just lending a helping hand, he went above and beyond for others, especially the people he loved most.

He could always be found giving a thoughtful gift - something he found that made him think of you.

His love was unconditional, especially for his children.

May his kindness live on in our hearts and memories.

Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 12 to 2 p.m. Funeral Service at 2 p.m.
