Big Mike; Michael Jasnica, 77, Past away from natural causes in his apartment on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Bolingbrook, IL. Big Mike was born on September 5, 1944 in Chicago to the late Stanley and Delores.
Loving father to Cassandra & Scott Dowling, Donna Jasnica, and Mike Jasnica.
Proud grandfather of Alexandra, Breanna, Nick, and Austin.
Eldest Brother of late Carole & late Ed Welch, Larry & June Jasnica, late David & Margaret Jasnica, Kathy Jasnica, and Ricky Jasnica.
Uncle to Christie & Scott (Teagan), Eddie (Hayley & Amanda), PJ, Kelly & John, Kaitlyn & Jason (Aurelia), Brian & Kerri, Lenny & Christine, Melinda (Robert), Deanna & Freddie (Gia, Ari, and Aiden), Yasmeen, Kyle, and Trinity.
Big Mike served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Big Mike worked with and for the Casino community for many years. It was more than a job, or a hobby for him. It was his passion. He thrived from it. He lived for it. He repaired casino tables, drove a truck and set up tables for casino events and fundraisers. He was above all a dealer and loved it. He however did not keep up with the times. He still thought it was proper to kiss a ladies hand, and call them sweetheart. He loved to play bingo at his apartment complex (Greenleaf Apartments) every Wednesday. He loved going to Hollywood Casino in Joliet whenever he could. And he would always stop at the casino buffet before heading back home. He also enjoyed spending time with his family as much as he could.
Big Mike wanted to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in Canada where he and his friends would go fishing. He did not want a Funeral and just asked that he have a memorial luncheon with his family and friends, which will be held at At’s A Nice Pizza located at 334 N Independence Blvd, Romeoville IL on Sunday November 7th at noon. All are welcome to celebrate the life of Big Mike.
