Phillip J. Herkel. 70 Years. Veteran United States Army - 1st Cavalry - Vietnam/Cambodia. Beloved husband of 47 years to Theresa (nee O’Connor) Herkel. Devoted father of William (Tonya) Herkel. Loving grandfather of Alyssa Herkel. Great-grandfather of Leah Comstock and Amelia Morgan. Cherished son of the late Martin (late Anna) Herkel. Dear brother of Irene (Richard) Krzeminski, Eleanor (Robert) Herkel, Edwin (Sharon) Herkel, Marion (Donald) Gillen and Helen (Stanley) Latocha. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Lifelong Canaryville resident. Friend to all who knew him. Member FLAG’S Club. Member Canaryville Veterans Association, Memeber V.F.W. Post # 5079. Funeral services 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, from the Thomas McInerney’s Sons Funeral Home to St. Gabriel Church. Mass of the Resurrection 10:00 a.m. Pastor Thomas Griffin officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Interment: Private. (773) 268-0703.
