Obituary for Raul Avila Cisneros Sr.

Raul Avila Cisneros, Sr., 84, August 10, 2002, longtime resident of the South Side of Chicago, Brighton Park neighborhood, after moving to Chicago in his mid 20’s from Mexico; beloved husband of Genoveva Cisneros; adored father of Raul (Belinda) Cisneros, Maria Xochitl (Lang) Peterson, Raymundo (Martha) Cisneros and Genoveva (Gilberto) Ruiz; proud grandfather of Frank, Ariel, Carlos, Dorian, Carmen, Julian, Dianna and Adam; dotting great grandfather of Ruth Cisneros; dearly loved by his mother, the late Maria Cisneros; devoted brother of Manuel Razo and Graciela Razo; as well as a devoted uncle and friend to many.

Raul was a CTA Bus Driver for 27 years. He was a huge Chicago sports fan, especially of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears. Raul loved to cook for his family, especially pizza from scratch and his famous tacos and tortas. He loved music, especially Elvis Presly and County Songs. He enjoyed watching each and every James Bond Movie. He had the reputation of being hard to buy presents for, as he was a beloved father figure, who had everything, as long as his family was close. Raul was known for and loved, taking his tequila shot before every meal. His tradition!
