Robert ("Bob") Dean Zugg, 70, of McHenry, IL passed away Friday, April 21st, 2017, 12:01am at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.

Bob was born on May 15, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the son of George L. and Lela E. (Jones) Zugg. He married Karla (Tudor) Zugg on October 16, 2010, she survives.

Bob is also survived by his children, Kenneth Zugg of Ocotillo, CA; Tonya Zugg of California, MD; Matthew Zugg of Prince Fredrick, MD; Jennifer (Nichols) Baugh (Matt) of Columbia, MO; Clint (Kelsey) Nichols of Florence, AZ. 4 Grandsons: Dean Zugg of Dayton, OH; Ryan, Evan, and Nathan Baugh of Columbia, MO. 3 Brothers: David (Lyn) Zugg of Glendale, AZ; Edgar (Cindy) Zugg of Mesa, AZ; James (Judy) Zugg of Long Beach, MS; and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Bob, a Vietnam Veteran, honorably served his family, friends and Country in the United States Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic First Class for 23 years, retiring in 1989. During his time of service, he completed several sea tours on various carriers internationally, including the VF-21 Freelancers during Vietnam aboard the USS Ranger, and was stationed at various bases across the Country, including NAS North Island, NS Charleston, and NAS Andrews. He received numerous commendations throughout his Naval career. As a civilian he continued to honorably serve the U.S. Military for another 15 plus years. At the time of his passing, he was working as a private Crew Chief for Priester Aviation at Chicago Executive Airport.

Bob enjoyed his airplane, his muscle cars, (especially his Dodge Challenger), golf, baseball, football and NASCAR.

Most of all Bob loved his family, his friends, and his work. He will be greatly missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 29th, from 2pm-5pm at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, 614 IAA Dr, Bloomington, IL 61701 with memorial service at 3pm.
