Rosalba “Rose” Lazo
65, longtime resident of Berwyn, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2023. Devoted and loving wife of 45 years to Jesse Lazo Sr.; beloved daughter of Evangelina and the late Celestino Aguliar; loving mother of Jessica Lazo (Abel Caridad), Jesse Lazo Jr. (Zenobia Hernandez), Jeannette Lazo (Esteban Rendon), and Evelyn Marie Lazo; cherished “Ma” of Victor, Jesse III, Junior, Jayden, Isabella Rose, Alexia, Ajani, Jesse, Angelo, Lorenzo, David, Jessenia, Lilliana, Xavier M., Xavier R., Adrian, Anabel, Alberto, Reyna, and Jeffrey and great-grandma of Josiah, Ruben, Santino, Elijah, and Isaiah; adored sister of Laura Chavira, Maggie Salazar, late Martin Aguilar, Eva Aguilar-Galindo, and Vincente Aguilar; also survived by numerous fun-loving nieces, nephews, and loyal friends.

Ma was the Matriarch and back-bone of our family. She absolutely adored spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family described her as a “social butterfly.” She would never miss a gathering or birthday party, sometimes attending 2 in one day. Ma enjoyed watching television. Her favorite shows included Charmed, Lifetime and CSI. Rose was a devoted and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will always be remembered for her kind and loving nature.


Services will be held at Central Chapel, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service, Monday, May 22, 2023 with chapel prayers at 8:15 a.m. to St. Leonard Catholic Church, 3318 S. Clarence Ave. Berwyn for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
