Obituary for Sharon Marie Dykema

Sharon Marie Dykema was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Sharon passed away on November 24th, 2023 at the age of 74. Born March 24th, 1949 to Charles and Margaret Fiss, Sharon grew up and lived most of her life in Chicago. She was raised with two adoring sisters, whom she held very dear throughout her days. Sharon was married to her loving husband, Dennis Dykema, for 47 years before her passing, with whom she raised 5 children, Robert, Michael, James, Alan, and Beth.

Sharon worked many different jobs throughout her lifetime, all of which allowed her to carry out adventures that would become stories her children and grandchildren will carry with them forever. Traveling, cooking, reading, and painting were a few of her many talents and hobbies. Most importantly, she knew how to live life better than most. Her youthful soul and gorgeous laugh are things that those who knew her will never be able to forget. She lived her life full of joy, always instilling in her children that what happens will always be what is “meant to be.”

Above everything, Sharon lived to be around her family. Being the matriarch of a very large legacy, raising 5 children, loving 11 grandchildren, and adoring 18 great-grandchildren during her life. With a heart as full as hers, she made sure to surround her family with a love that could never be replicated. They will carry on her undying kindness and comfort to future generations, as Sharon raised her children to love like her.

Sharon Dykema was one of a kind. May all who knew her still picture her smiling, singing, and dancing – how she would want to be remembered.

Loving mother of Bob (Jackie), Mike (Stacy), Jay (Ashley), Al (Kim), and Beth (John). Devoted Grandma of Jamie, Michael, Josh, Jake, Alyssa, Matt, Kate, Riley, Jack, Kyle and Kailey. Beloved Gigi of Elizabeth, Charlie, Alexandria, Sueanne, Amelia, Sammy, Addie, Logan, C.J., Julian, Layla, Emmett, Reid, Ashton, Lynnx, Braxton, Jadon and Jolyn. Dear Sister of Cyndy (Eelco) and Kathie. Devoted Aunt of Missy, Jenny, Jessica, Spence, David, Terry, and Jonathan.
