Obituary for Socorro Cisneros

Socorro Cisneros 78, June 21, 2023, long time resident of Little Village, formerly of Morelia Michoacán, Mexico. Beloved wife of 58 years to Gabriel M. Cisneros and cherished mother of Jose Cisneros (Dawn Wirebaugh), Maria (Flavio) Verdin and Rosemarie Cisneros. Proud grandmother to Rebecca Aranda, Stephanie (Glenn) Serratt, Michael Verdin (Jomary Lopez-Perez) the late Gabriel Cisneros, Carmen Cisneros (Carlos Padilla), Christopher Verdin, Brian Verdin (Meghan Zenkel) and Gabriela Aranda (Esau Salazar). Socorro was a dear sister to 10 siblings, especially being close to Esperanza and Estella. She was a fond aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins. Socorro was preceded in death by her parents.


Socorro loved to spend time sewing and knitting. She took great pride in cooking for her family an caring for her garden. She loved music, especially Marichi music, genre -80's pop, anything that was upbeat. Above all, the time she spent caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her most precious time.

Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Friday, June 30th, 2023 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Saturday, July 1, 2023 8:15 a.m. at Funeral home, to St. Agnes of Bohemia Church, 2651 S. Central Park, 60623 Chicago for a 10 a.m Funeral Mass.
Cremation will follow in accordance with Socorro’s wishes.
