Obituary for Steven J. Mason
Steven J. Mason, 60, October 1, 2021, resident of Palos Heights. Beloved husband of Jean Mason nee Esposito; loving father of Jackie (Brian) Dugan, Tim (Erin) Mason, and Brian Mason; cherished papa of Ryan Stazzone and Ellie Dugan; dear brother of Christine Mason.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Rose Mason nee Wagner and his in-laws Vincent and Evelyn Esposito.
Steve loved nature, working in his garden, being outdoors and especially enjoyed feeding his hummingbirds. His family described him as quick witted and hilarious, always keeping them smiling and laughing. He was happiest when he was at home and loved cooking family dinners, especially during grilling season. He enjoyed listening to music (particularly rock and roll and the blues) and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Above all, Steve was a family man! He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren, and will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Hickory Creek Preserve, 10537 W. La Porte Rd., Mokena, IL 60448 from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Second parking lot on the left when you turn in.) Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes.
