Obituary for Susan "'Sue'" Gannon

Susan J. Gannon “Sue”
79, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late James and Julia McDowell (Clark; loving mother of Tammy O’Donnell-Urbanski, James J. Gannon, and Michelle (Joseph) Curtin; cherished grandmother of Connor O’Donnell, Jack O’Donnell, Savannah Brown, Lidice Gannon, James J. Gannon Jr., Julia Curtin, and Reese Curtin; also survived by numerous fond nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, the late Roberta Evans and the late John McDowell.

Sue’s family described her as always willing to “lend a helping hand,” to anyone in need. She cherished time spent with family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will always be remembered and never forgotten.

Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday, February 3, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial11:30 a.m. at St. Symphorosa Church, 6135 S. Austin Ave. Chicago. Cremation following in accordance with Sue’s wishes.
