Obituary for William L. "Bill" Edwards

William L Edwards, 76, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, formerly of Elmhurst, Illinois, died unexpectedly of natural causes on November 15, 2022. Born the eldest child of June Edwards (DeBoer) and Lawrence Edwards on March 17, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. Bill owned and operated a building contracting business for over 30 years in the western suburbs of Chicago. His workmanship was sought after and valued by many. Bill was also an accomplished artist and in retirement, both studied and worked at a variety of venues … Oak Park Art League (OPAL), Benedictine University and DuPage Art League. He had a number of art shows in Illinois and Wisconsin… Villa Park Art Venue and Gallery LG in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Bill attended Northern Illinois University earning a degree in Art History and attended University of Wisconsin, Madison working toward and MFA. He married Suzanne Pustaver on February 24, 1979 at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard, Illinois. Together, they raised 3 children, Audrey, Steven and David in Elmhurst, Illinois. Bill loved to fish! After building their retirement home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Bill and Sue moved there permanently in March 2020. Entertaining their 8 grandchildren at the lake was one of Bill’s greatest joys.

Bill is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Pustaver) Edwards, children Audrey (Jason) Airey of Maple Valley, WA, Steven (Michelle) Edwards (of Lombard, Illinois), David (Kristina) Edwards (of Cape Coral, Florida) and 8 beloved grandchildren: Kaiden, Carter, Case, McKenna, Brandon, Allison, Adriana and Bradley as well as a brother Ken (Debby) Edwards and sister Susan (Vic) Rogers and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and June Edwards, parents-in-law, Frank and Barbara Pustaver.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 where family and friends will gather at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 South Meyer Road. Lombard, Illinois. 630-932-1500 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Interment Private.
