Obituary for Gayle Lynn Engberg

Gayle Lynn  Engberg
Gayle Engberg died peacefully on January 8, 2018 in Chicago, IL at the age of 55. Gayle is survived by her sister, Dianna Lord, brother in law, Jeff Lord, niece, Elaine Lord and beloved extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Cherol Engberg.

Gayle was born in Peoria, IL, graduated from DePaul University in 2007, with a Bachelor of General Studies degree. She worked in the financial industry and will be remembered as a dedicated and ethical compliance professional.

Gayle was accomplished at the fiber arts and often created and gave beautiful gifts to friends and family. She was a generous individual who loved architecture and who was passionate about sharing her love of architecture as a docent for Chicago Architecture Foundation. She was an active and dedicated member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church and often volunteered as an aide to the children’s Sunday school program.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2018, 10:30 a.m., at Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, Delaware Place at Michigan Avenue, Chicago. Rev. Judith Watt, officiating. Reception to follow at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gayle’s life. Gayle will be laid to rest privately with her parents at Oak Hill Cemetery.
