Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Beem can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

One of the Best

I was new to West Ottawa in the 1971/72 school year. I somehow got mixed up with this crazy, wonderful group of Drama Club kids, and got the chance to be in The Music Man, where I really got to know John, who did an amazing job in the lead. He became one of my best friends, and the next year he and I had the privelige of working together on Brigadoon, where we played best friends as well.

He was a kind, gentle spirited person, and made me feel welcome to a place I had not been raised. I always appreciated the way he shared his friendships so naturally. We had spoken in recent years of getting together up in Castle Rock where he had family, but somehow it never worked out, and I will always regret we did not try harder to make that happen. John was a prince among men, and will be sorely missed.
