John J. Castanedo, 86, October 27, 2014, lifetime resident of Chicago, longtime resident of Clearing neighborhood, and resident of Senior Suites of Garfield Ridge. Proud Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Recipient of World War II Victory Medal and Armey of Occupation Meda;-Japan. Dear Husband of Inez Castenedo. Loving Father of John J. (Judith P.) Castenedo, Jr., Christine (Oracio) Ruiz, Linda (Jorge) Menchaca, Richard Castenedo, Michael (Patricia) Castenedo, Toni Castenedo, and Mark Castenedo. Dear Brother of Vito (Shirley) Castenedo and Marylou (Robert) Vieya. Devoted grandfather of 11 and Great Grandfather of 18. Resting at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, where friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Friday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
