Acosta, 45, December 20, 2020, longtime resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago– Garfield Ridge neighborhood, beloved son of Armandina Medina and Jose Acostal loving father of Gage Jordan, Nathan Duran, Alyssa Acosta, Aaliyah Acosta, and Dominic Acosta; proud grandfather of Sofia, James, and Sirius; longtime partner of Maria Duran; devoted brother of David Santiago, Maria Soto, Maria Flores, Maria Jennison, Hector Acosta, the late Jose Acosta, Sarah Medina, Lupe Medina, Christina Medina, and Maria Medina. Leonel was a fun-loving uncle and friend to many.

Leonel had a wonderful sense of humor, always joking, and let’s not forget the life of every party! He and his brother weere known to spoil their mom! One of his favorite habits. He enjoyed sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He was a family man. Was happiest around his family, especially that of his children.

Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Sunday, December 27, 2020, from 3 to 7 p.m., with cremation following in accordance with his wishes.

I'm going to miss u and ur always in my heart we had some fun times with each other from the 1st time I met u and ur family and when I helped u and family with the baby shower I still can't believe ur gone I feel so alone
