Mateo Fernandez, 78, August 6, 2015, longtime resident of the Southwest side of Chicago, of West Lawn neighborhood. Dearly beloved husband of Aurora Fernandez, nee Vazquez. Devoted father of Miguel (Amparo) Fernandez, Jose Fernandez and Alfredo Fernandez. Proud grandfather of 12. Preceded in death by his parents, Miguel Fernandez and Eufemia Rangel Fernandez. Loving brother of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Adoring uncle of many. Undisputed family grill master who loved dancing, telling jokes, and an avid wrestling fan. Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Monday, Aug.10, from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, Aug. 11, 9:30 a.m . Burial in Mexico.
