Lunch at American Girl

First of all I want to say that Megan had a gift of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. I've lived away from Chicago for the the last 30 years and when I came back to Chicago my visits were usually pretty short and very busy. On these visits I'm pretty sure Megan and her family would drop everything for me and my family. We were very spoiled. One of my fondest memories was about ten years ago when my sister and I decided at the very last moment to take our daughters to American Girl. Megan is my daughter's godmother, so then I thought how nice it would be if Megan could join us. I called and of course Megan said yes, but it would be easier if she would drive herself since she needed her scooter. Since Megan was running a little late I went outside the restaurant to check on her. Presuming Megan would be able to park in front of the restaurant, I can't tell you how shocked i was to to see Megan driving down the street on her scooter just like it was a car. She had parked her van in a lot about three blocks away and was absolutely non-plussed at her feat. We had a great time at lunch, and all of us got to see a truly remarkable woman in action.
