Norman Longid, 69, August 25, 2014, 40 year resident of Chicago’s northwest side, dearly beloved husband of Luisa Silverio Longid; devoted father of Karl (Angeline) Longid, Marlon (Kathleen) Longid, Ruby Longid and Olive Longid; cherished grandfather of Nina, Sophia, Moira and Conor Longid; loving son of the late Martha and The Rt. Rev. Edward Longid; dear brother of Catherine Carlin, Edith O’Keefe, David Longid, Benjamin Longid, and preceded in death by John Longid, Paul Longid, The Rt. Rev. Robert Longid and Frank Longid. National Sales Director of Primerica for over 31 years. Visitation Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 1, 3 to 8 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Lying In State Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. James Cathedral, 65 E. Huron St., Chicago. Funeral Service Wednesday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m., at St. James Cathedral. Cremation Woodlawn Memorial Park. Norman’s dream was to see a gymnasium built for his high school.
