Obituary for Walter Wesley

Walter Wesley ,75, passed away at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, March 21, 2016. He had been a resident of Chicago since 1980. Born September 8, 1940 in Akron, Ohio. Walter was the son of Lillian Marie and Jack Nicholas Wesley. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Young Wesley and brother-in-law, William L. Young. Also surviving are nephews, James Young (Andrea) children: Daniel, Sophia and Isabel, David Young (Marie) daughter Jordan, Geoffrey Young (Dana) children: Gavin, Karin, Alexander, Scott Forbes (Charlene Doss), niece Barbara Elzie, and dear close friends: Martha McCallister, Paul Mastrapa (Anne) children Matthew, Nicholas.

His family moved to Marion, Ohio in 1951 and he graduated from Marion Harding High School followed by Georgia Tech University where he studied electrical engineering. Walter served in the USAF National guard before beginning his career ITE- Siemens where he was based in Atlanta, New Orleans, Knoxville, Dallas, London. After joining Philips Advance he made Chicago his home. As an international businessman, his travels took him around the world. Outside of work, he was an avid sailor who loved to navigate in the annual Chicago to Mackinac regatta. Recent volunteer service included Blind Services of America and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Arts Club, 201 E. Ontario St., Chicago, for a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m.
