Lois M. Bateson, nee Brokish, 57, February 28, 2016, of Waukee, IA, formerly of Park Forest, IL, originally of Dubuque, IA. Survived by her parents, Carol and Maleta, nee Ernzen, Brokish; siblings Tony (Shirley) Brokish, Mary Ann (Ken) Hall, Paul (Heidi) Broward, Kathy (Jeff) Lawson, Dave (Jung) Brokish, Tom (Sarah Auld) Brokish and Linda(Rod) Bollinger; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Jan Bateson; a variety of wonderful friends and her beloved cat, Ginger.

Lois was a graduate of the University of Iowa and worked in various aspects of the insurance industry. She was a valued member of the Kiwanis Club of Park Forest, BJ Investment club and a supporter of the arts, a good book, Netflix and any form of animal rescue. If you would like to pay tribute to Lois you may make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, your local animal shelter or, if the opportunity arises, offer kindness to another, as that’s what Lois would do.

A beautiful life came to an end; she died as she lived, everyone’s friend. Even after her death Lois' giving way lives on as she donated her corneas to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.
