Condolence From: Douglas Kountz
Condolence: May we have hope and joy in the knowledge of the resurrected Christ, with Uncle Marv joining those of our family who are with God.
I have memories of the neat projects he had us do when we were in Y-Indian guides and would host meetings in the basement

Condolence: Dearest Melva, Mark, Lois, Karl and family,

It is extraordinarily difficult to witness our loved ones suffer. What a blessing that has stopped.

Knowing Marv, I am sure he would have preferred to cook everyone a delicious breakfast, then once everyone was content, retire for a nap and go to the Lord.

In recent years, I have been delighted to see posted photos of Marv being a wonderful Grandpa, and an honored veteran. He truly seemed invincible having survived two heart attacks, walking to return to health, and caring for family when you came to visit.

I want to share something with you which I discovered over 50 years ago. I had the delight of babysitting for young Mark, Lois and Karl from time to time…and each time your Mom and Dad returned home from a gathering or event, they were glowing. They loved their children dearly but had not lost the joy of being together, of being in love with each other.

What a blessing that was for each of you kids to witness as you grew. Marv and Melva passed along genes of brilliance and talent from which you have all benefited. But, they passed along examples of love and basic decency which is even more valuable.

My own Mom died two days before Thanksgiving in 1996. In 2003, my Dad died on Christmas Eve—the day you celebrate Christmas, if you are raised in a German family like mine. For many years, these holidays were very difficult for me to celebrate. I had to remind myself of how my parents would want me to celebrate them.

I know Marv would want you to be thankful on his behalf that he had such a wonderful life which included each of you.

God bless and comfort!
