Obituary for Walter J. Lenart

Walter James Lenart, 76, April 12, 2016, lifelong resident of the southwest side of Chicago. Survived by his sons, Richard C. (MaryEllen) Lenart and Joseph J. (Moriah) Lenart; two granddaughters, Amanda (Nathan) Muhs and April Lenart; and 3 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Marie Lenart; parents Walter Harry and Bernice Bouvia Leonard; and three brothers, William W. Leonard, Russell C. Leonard, and Norman Leonard.

Veteran of U.S. Army, having served as an Airborne ranger. Body builder having been named Man of the Month in Strength and Health Magazine in 1963, Trained with such greats; Bob Gajda, Ralph "Ruffy" Silverstein, Tony Zale and Sergio "The Myth" Oliva. He also became a Martial arts instructor in Tai Chi.

In accordance with Walter’s wishes, he will be cremated and no services will be held.
